GUWAHATI, June 7 � A platform for conservation of nature and wildlife � Sadou Asom Prakriti Suraksha Mancha � involving educationists, writers, artistes, social workers and journalists was formed at a meeting at Guwahati Press Club recently.
Convened by Nature�s Beckon, the new voluntary organisation will strive to check the ongoing destruction of wildlife and their habitat across the State through action and advocacy, Soumyadip Datta, chief of Nature�s Beckon said.
The NGO has a number of eminent citizens from diverse fields such as Prof Kulendu Pathak, Nirupoma Bargohain, DN Chakravartty, Rita Choudhury, Anuradha Sarma Pujari, Suniti Sonowal, Ajay Dutta, and Nava Thakuria, among others.
