Plasto Fair gets under way

GUWAHATI, May 21 � The Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Anand Sharma today inaugurated the North-East International Plasto Fair, 2010 at Maniram Dewan Trade Centre.

Inaugurating the four-day event, Sharma applauded the organizers and hoped that the fair would go a long way in exploring the prospects of plastic industry in the State.

The fair is being participated by over 120 plastic-based industries from across the country.

The fair is an initiative of the stake-holders of Gas Cracker Project, including Assam Government, GAIL, NRL, OIL and Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India and is being organized by Plast India Foundation and the Federation of Industry and Commerce of the North East Region.

A series of discussion on various aspects of plastic industry would also take place during the next few days.
