GUWAHATI, June 6 � Former Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta�s mother Lakshmiprobha Mahanta died at the GNRC Hospital here around 2 am today due to old-age ailments. She was 85.
She leaves behind her husband Devakanta Mahanta, who is the Sattradhikar of Rupnarayan Khamusia Sattra, Prafulla Kumar Mahanta and two other sons, a daughter and a host of relatives.
Governor J B Patnaik, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and the Asom Gana Parishad have mourned the death of Lakshmiprobha Mahanta and sympathized with the bereaved members of her family.
