GUWAHATI, June 25 � The sporting freternity of the State hailed Pinki Karmakar, who has been picked by the Local Organising Committee of Olympic Games as a torch bearer for the London Olympic.
Pinki, who hails from Barbaruah, Dibrugarh, was selected for her association with UNICEF and devoting herself for the promotion of �sports for health� programme. She will be one of the London Olympic torch bearers among representives from 20 countries.
Assam Olympic Association (AOA) president Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, general secretary Forest Minister Rockybul Hussain congratulated Pinki for this honour. AOA assistant secretary Bishnuram Nunisa stated that the AOA president and general secretary termed Pinki�s achievement as a great honour for Assam.
ACA congratulation: Assam Cricket Association (ACA) president Gautam Roy and secretary Bikash Baruah hailed Pinki Karmakar for her selection as a torch bearer of London Olympics. Baruah said Pinki�s hard work for the development of sports has paid dividends.
