Pillai reviews BTAD area situation

KOKRAJHAR, Feb 9 � In a closed door meeting at the Deputy Commissioner�s conference hall here today evening, Union Home Secretary GK Pillai took stock of the law and order situation of all the four districts in the BTAD area.

High level officials, including the DCs and SPs of the four districts of BTAD, GoC 4 Corps and top brass of CRPF, SSB Assam Police and other secretaries of the State Government also took part in the closed door meeting. However, the outcome of the meet was yet to be officially disclosed.

It may be mentioned here that Sankar Prasad Baruah, DGP, Assam Police, Home Commissioner and Secretary, Assam, also attended the meeting.

Meanwhile, security in Kokrajhar district has been tightened and intensified in this regard.

On the other hand, the implementation, status and review meeting of the Bodo Accord will be held tomorrow at Kokrajhar in which the Union Home Secretary along with other high officials will discuss several unresolved issues.

In the meantime, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi will grace the 8th Bodoland Day function tomorrow as chief guest.
