Photojournalist passes away

IMPHAL, Aug 10 - Senior photojournalist Phanjoubam Santosh passed away following an illness, at his Wangkhei residence in Imphal East district on Friday. He was 57 and is survived by his mother, wife and two children.

Santosh, who started his career in 1974, became a freelance photojournalist in 1980 and later became the first Reuters photographer from Manipur.

He captured crucial and momentous events in the history of Manipur during the last more than three decades through his lens, and held solo photograph exhibitions in the State.

The journalists� community in the State has condoled Santosh�s untimely demise and paid floral tribute to the departed soul at the Manipur Press Club.
