PDA MLAs vow to support Rio

DIMAPUR, Oct 13 - MLAs of the ruling People�s Democratic Alliance (PDA) in Nagaland have resolved to stand firm behind the pre- and post-poll alliance of the PDA under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.

The resolution was taken at a joint meeting of the PDA MLAs and the PDA coordination committee held at the State Banquet Hall in Kohima on Friday evening.

Adopting a six-point resolution, the meeting unanimously resolved that the PDA is committed to providing stability and pursuing the progressive goals of the NDA Government under the �visionary leadership� of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It agreed to hold a Cabinet meeting in Kiphire district as part of the PDA Government�s endeavour to take governance and administration to all corners of the State.

The meeting also condoled the demise of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The PDA consists of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party, BJP, JD(U), National People�s Party and an Independent MLA. It has 34 MLAs in the 60-member Nagaland Assembly.
