PC to review Meghalaya, Tripura security

NEW DELHI, Feb 16 � Union Home Minister P Chidambaram is arriving in the North-east on a two-day visit to review the internal security situation in Tripura and Meghalaya on February 18 and 19.

According to sources, Chidambaram is scheduled to arrive in Tripura on Sunday and hold official-level meeting with the State Government. He is likely to fly down to Guwahati the same evening for a night halt, sources said.

The next day, he is scheduled to fly to Shillong and meet with top officials of the State Government. He is likely to discuss the issue of GNLA.

Meanwhile Meghalaya Governor R S Mooshahary called on the Union Home Minister and discussed the prevailing situation in the State.
