Patient safety workshop at Down Town tomorrow

GUWAHATI, Dec 5 - Down Town Hospital is organising its 5th North East Patient Safety Workshop on December 7 in the hospital auditorium. Dr Ratna Talukdar, Principal, Gauhati Medical College and Hospital will inaugurate the workshop.

The hospital has taken the initiative to create awareness about patient safety and quality of care not only amongst healthcare providers of Guwahati but also of the entire NE.

�We have witnessed a grand success of the workshop organised since 2015 with more than 1,000 participants from different states. The workshop has enriched the attending participants with the required knowledge to spread awareness about patient safety. In the last four years experts from the fields of defence, hospitality and aviation have also been included in the workshop to get an idea of their safety culture,� said Dr Udayan Barua, medical superintendent of the host hospital and chief adviser to the 5th North East Patient Safety Workshop.

Mayurakshi Dutta, executive director and president of the 5th North East Patient Safety Workshop said the event is a holistic approach in providing patient care and takes the initiative to motivate all levels of healthcare workers right from doctors, nurses and paramedics to all supporting staff in ensuring patient safety.
