Patacharkuchi girl reaps laurels

PATACHARKUCHI, July 6 - Barnali Das, a girl from Patacharkuchi has bagged the �general proficiency medal� and �proficiency medal� in the two-year Master of Science examination of Physics under Kanpur IIT for the best academic performance and the best project work respectively of the Physics department.

She received the award at the 49th convocation of the institution on June 28. She got 10 CPI and SPI in each semester out of 10. As the news of her performance reached her birth place, various organisations including the Patacharkuchi Press Club and Pragjyoti Club extended their congratulations and expressed happiness over her brilliant performances.

Daughter of Munindra Das, a professor of mathematics, Birjhora College, Bongaigaon and Siran Kalita Das, science teacher of Patacharkuchi Girls� High School and a resident of Sariha Chakla, Barnali had earlier secured the 4th position in HSLC and the 5th position in HS science stream and was adjudged the best graduate in Physics under the Delhi University in 2014. Now she is planning to carry out her research work at the National Centre for Radio Astrophysics, Pune.
