Parties have betrayed the local people

By Correspondent

JONAI, March 27 - An Independent candidate, Satho Basumatary contesting in 114-Jonai (ST) LAC under Dhemaji district has adopted unemployment problem and the boundary dispute with Arunachal Pradesh as his poll plank, assuring that he would initiate measures for their solution on top priority.

Addressing a public gathering at Neapalibasti on Saturday, the candidate lamented that that MLAs earlier elected from the seat had miserably failed to achieve any visible development in the constituency which has compelled him to come out for the public mandate.

Referring to his election manifesto, which was released at Jonai on Saturday, Basumatary promised the people that he was putting priority on the health, education, industry sectors and youth development besides phase-wise solution of the burning problems, if voted to power.

Criticising the ruling Congress, BJP and the Sanmilita Gana Sakti, which have represented the constituency, he said that these parties have betrayed the local people. He requested the voters to uproot the parties and bring about a political change in the constituency.
