DIBRUGARH, Dec 20 - Its the end of the calendar year, and like every other year, the Lohit district administration with its headquarters in Tezu, is gearing up for the preparation of the annual Parshuram Kund Mela which is organised every year in the month of January coinciding with Makar Sankranti. For 2018 too, the Lohit district administration is leaving no stone unturned to make the travel easier and comfortable for the pilgrims and tourists visiting the holy site.

For the 2018 event, the Lohit district administration has proposed a new, scenic route to the Parshuram Kund Mela which will give travellers ample opportunity to discover the scenic beauty of Lohit district.

With the opening of the Dr Bhupen Hazarika Setu, the pilgrims and tourists can take a detour along Tinsukia-Makum-Doomdooma-Rupai-Talap-Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Setu-Islampur crossing-Sunpura-Tezu-Demwe-Tohanggam-Parshuram Kund.

This route will be a treat for pilgrims and tourists as it will give wider opportunity to explore maximum tourists sites in one trip covering parts of Assam, Lohit district and also Namsai district at one go, suggested Karma Leki, Lohit district Deputy Commissioner.

The visitors will have the option of taking the Parshuram Kund-Wakro-Medo-Chongkham-Tengapani-Namsai-Mahadevpur-Dirak- Rupai route for their return journey. Thus, a better exploration opportunity awaits tourists and visitors to Parshuram Kund, the official said.
