Papum Pare DLSA adjudged best in NE

ITANAGAR, Nov 10 - Arunachal Pradesh�s Papum Pare District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) was adjudged as the best District Legal Services Authority in NE in recognition of its services rendered to the needy people, under the alternative dispute resolution mechanism of Lok Adalat.

The Papum Pare DLSA was selected for the award during the National Level Meet of Para Legal Volunteers held in New Delhi on Wednesday which was organised by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA).

The Member Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority Budi Habung and Chief Judicial Magistrate cum Member Secretary of Papum Pare DLSA Hirendra Kashyap received the award and a memento from Justice TS Thakur, Chief Justice of India, who is also the Patron-in-Chief of NALSA.

The Papum Pare DLSA�s achievements for the period under report included establishment of four Legal Aid Clinics, providing legal aid to 410 applicants, settlement of MACT (Motor Accident Claims Tribunal) cases, bank recovery and pre-litigation cases with payment of over Rs 2.97 crore, besides conduct of nearly two dozen legal awareness camps, according to an official from APSLSA here.
