GUWAHATI, April 16 - Pantaloons, India�s leading family fashion store from Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd, celebrated 10 years of opening its first store in Guwahati at DT Tower, and also the Assamese New Year festival Rongali Bihu, by taking out a colourful Bihu Xubhojatra here on Saturday last.
Attended by Assamese film actor Utpal Das, the spectacular xubhojatra comprised beautifully decorated traditional tableaus featuring live performances by artistes to the beats of dhul and pepa, and a large fleet of colourfully decked up cycle-rickshaws that carried Pantaloons models sporting the latest Summer �18 Collection, a statement by the company said here.
The breathtaking Bihu Xubhojatra also saw performances by the Yuva music band and the Joydev Deka dance troupe. The artistes were dressed in traditional Assamese attire with the women looking gorgeous in mekhla-chadar and the men dancing away in the traditional dhoti-kurta and gamochas. The city responded wholeheartedly to the �xubhojatra� with more than 2000 people witnessing the live performances, it added.
