GUWAHATI, Nov 7 - Pandu College observed the 8th death anniversary of Dr Bhupen Hazarika with daylong activities on Tuesday, according to a delayed press release.
On the occasion Finance Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the second floor of the Girls� Hostel of the college along with the newly constructed postgraduate Department of Geography, Digital Classroom and Radio Frequency Identification Device (RFID) at its Central Library.
In his speech Dr Sarma spoke about the worldwide popularity of Dr Bhupen Hazarika and requested faculties to enlighten the students about the current affairs so that they become confident in pursuing their goal in life.
On the same day, Director of Jana Shikshan Sansthan, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Munindra Kumar Kakati inaugurated a tailoring centre at the college.
The programme concluded with a cultural function organised by the Cultural Development Committee of the college.
