NALBARI, Dec 8 - As a part of the new initiative of Nalbari Deputy Commissioner Bharat Bhusan Dev Choudhury to bring the administration closer to the masses, a programme under the name and style Padakhyep was held at Dahudi today.
In order to ensure effective implementation of the Government�s development schemes in regard to various departments, the second programme of its kind was held with the active participation of all the departments.
The programme was inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner, who in his speech appealed to the people to come forward to avail the benefits of the government schemes.
He informed that Padakhyep is designed like a bridge between the administration and the public for easy and hassle-free redressal of public grievances. It will help in meaningful implementation of all government schemes and programmes in the district, he added.
The meeting was also addressed, among others, by Nitul Deka, chairman of Nalbari Zilla Parishad and Minakshi Das, member of Chamata Zilla Parishad.They asked the local people to fully avail the facilities offered at their doorstep through the programme Padakhyep by the Nalbari district administration.
The meeting was presided over by Madhav Bhuyan, president of the Village Development Committee, Dahudi.
In the meeting, prominent citizens of the locality, namely Lohit Das, Madhurya Kashyap, Dambarudhar Haloi, Ramesh Medhi, Tapan Barman, Pinku Das and Biswajit Bhuyan were felicitated. Representatives of departments like Social Welfare, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Labour, Agriculture, Revenue and Disaster Management, Handloom and Textile, Health and Family Welfare, Fishery, District Industry and Commerce, Panchayat and Rural Development etc., were present at the Dahudi Kali Mandir premises.
The facility for Aadhaar enrolment was also inaugurated today.Earlier, the local people had requested the district administration to provide Aadhaar enrolment facility for one month at a stretch and also to expedite the process of depositing land revenue.
