Over 11,000 Brus identified in four camps

AIZAWL, Nov 15 - Altogether 11,275 members of Bru community belonging to 1,980 families have been identified as bona fide residents of Mizoram till date in four Bru relief camps in Tripura, Mizoram Home Department officials said today.

These persons could be sent to Mizoram, the official said. The physical repatriation was scheduled to begin from November 30, the officials said.

However, the Ministry of Home Affairs has to make expeditious decisions in some matters in order to begin the physical repatriation as per schedule, the officials said.

If there was absence of clarity on certain matters, the commencement of the physical repatriation might be deferred and might begin early next year, the officials said. � PTI
