GUWAHATI, Aug 7 - In view of the problem of flash flood in the Jorabat locality, the Kamrup Metro district administration has directed the Circle Officer of the Sonapur revenue circle to clear all the blockages in drains on both sides of the National Highway 37 and the Guwahati-Shillong Road for smooth flow of storm-water and to prevent water-logging in the area.
The NHAI will provide all necessary logistics for execution of the work, said an order issued by Kamrup (Metro) Deputy Commissioner Virendra Mittal.
Meanwhile, the district administration has also formed a task force to deal with the issue of artificial flooding in the entire stretch of NH-37 from Jalukbari to Sonapur.
