Opening function of new temple building on Dec 29, 30

GUWAHATI, Dec 24 - The opening function of the new building of the Sri Sri Nabagraha Smashan Niramuhia Shiva Mandir here will be held on December 29 and 30, stated a press release issued by Hiramon Choudhury, general secretary of the temple committee.

At 4 pm on the first day, bhajan will be presented by members of the Satya Sai Sewa Samiti and others. This will be followed by a religious discourse by Jagatguru Shankaracharya Gyanananda Teerth. The discourse will be followed by Deodhani dance and presentation of devotional songs by popular artiste Kalpana Patowary.

At 10 am on December 30, State Education Minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya will hoist the religious flag on the new temple premises. Soon afterwards, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will declare the main door of the new temple open. The door to the sanctum sanctorum will be declared open by Jagatguru Shankaracharya Gyanananda Teerth.

Later, a programme of religious and devotional items like women�s Nagara Naam and bhajan will be held. In the evening, noted artistes including Sangeeta Kakati, Bidyasagar and Praneeta Baishya will present devotional songs.
