Open lecture on strategies for start-ups

GUWAHATI, Oct 20 - To encourage the youth towards entrepreneurship and unlock their latent inventive potential, the Entrepreneurial Development Cell (EDC) of IIT Guwahati, among the biggest e-cells in the region, is organising an open lecture by Umesh Rathore on marketing strategies for start-ups as well as budding entrepreneurs of the North East on October 23 in the IIT Guwahati campus.

The lecture programme is a prelude to the ninth edition of EDC�s flagship annual entrepreneurship summit Udgam, which will be held in January next year.

Rathore is currently a visiting faculty in marketing to more than eight business schools and also a freelance marketing strategist for start-ups in Mumbai. The seminar will be open for all on first-come-first-serve basis. The seminar will be followed by a business ideation workshop with limited seats.

A popular name in the field of marketing, Rathore has successfully reached out to 25,000 students through seminars and workshops and has impacted the lives of thousands of people through his work.

On the other hand, the E-summit Udgam, to be held from January 27 to 29, has been conceptualised to develop and spread the spirit of entrepreneurship among the youths of India, especially in the North East.

In the lecture series of the event, the students have got the opportunity to interact with some of the most enterprising minds of the nation in the previous editions of the summit, including Phanindra Sama, founder and CEO of RedBus.in; Jaspreet Singh, founder and CEO of Druva; Prukalpa Sankae, co-founder, Social Cops; Dr Harish Hande, co-founder Selco; Akash Gautam, motivator and corporate trainer, Varun Agarwal, founder Alma Mater and others.
