Open forum on new age entrepreneurs

GUWAHATI, May 20 � The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) Ladies Organisation, NE Chapter, held an open forum on �New Age Entrepreneurs, Success and Challenges� here on Monday. The event was organised to provide a unique platform for academicians, new-age entrepreneurs, start-ups, eminent business personalities and students to gather and share their entrepreneurial endeavours and experiences and to take a pledge to take entrepreneurship to greater scales in Assam and the North-east.

Guest speakers from diverse areas like services, retail, IT, food, handicraft, etc., spoke on their experiences and challenges. Established entrepreneurs, budding start-ups and students from IIT-Guwahati attended the programme.

The second forum will be held in about two months� time in which bankers, government officials of relevant department and others will be included, said a statement.

Dr Sriparna B Baruah, FICCI Ladies Organisation member, chaired the event. Dr Baruah is the head of the Centre for Industrial Extension and is in charge of training, research and cluster development in the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship.
