GUWAHATI, July 11 - Keeping in view the campaign for Digital India, a meeting on online registration of vehicle at dealer point with automobile dealers was held at conference hall, DTO�s office, Betkuchi here under the chairmanship of Dr J Balaji, Commissioner of Transport.
The meeting was held with a view to bring the transparency in the Transport Department. All automobile dealers of Kamrup (M) were present in the meeting.
Different aspects of online registration of vehicle at dealer point through online payment of taxes were discussed in the meeting. Dr J Balaji stressed on computerisation of registration of vehicles through cashless transaction system. He also strictly called upon the vehicle dealers not to deliver vehicles without registration and without number plate keeping in view the Supreme Court guidelines and to ensure possession of helmet while selling two-wheelers to the customers.
The joint commissioner of Transport, JC Handique, assistant commissioner of Transport, technical director of the National Informatics Centre (NIC) Rubaiyat Ali and DK Choudhary of the State Bank of India (SBI) were also present in the meeting.
