ONGC lending support to infra building in the region: CMD

SIVASAGAR, March 19 - Addressing a well attended press conference here today, the CMD of ONGC Bed Prakash Mahawat said that ONGC�s crude production in Assam is going down over the years due to the aging hydrocarbon fields and frequent bandhs and barricades in the region, and yet it has been lending support to infrastructure building in the region. The meeting was also addressed among others by Buddhin Deori, Executive Director of Assam Asset, ONGC Nazira, Kashyap Josipura, GM CC, ONGC and representatives of various media houses.

A press release stated that it has already sanctioned Rs 99.09 crore towards the first phase construction of the super specialty hospital at Rajabari near Sivasagar which is expected to cater to the needs of the local people at nominal cost. The hospital, to be implemented in collaboration with Dr Dadasaheb Ambedkar Vaidyakiya Pratisthan will have 100 beds and is expected to be completed in three phases at a cost of Rs 313 crore by the end of July 2023. The CMD also inaugurated the Choulung Seukapha Indoor Stadium here, while ONGC contributed Rs 1.54 crore towards its construction.
