AGARTALA, April 4 � The ONGC Tripura Asset has made remarkable achievements during 2011-12 in the area of gas production as well as drilling of wells here.
The Asset has achieved gas production and sales of 643.9 MMSCM and 642.22 MMSCM respectively, which is the highest ever in the State. It has also recorded daily production of 1.8599 MMSCM and sale of 1.8547 MMSCM gas on February 2, this year which is the highest in the history of Tripura Asset.
Not only in gas production or selling, it has also made impressive performance in the drilling front by drilling 12 wells (9 exploratory + 3 development) against the target of 11 wells during the fiscal year, which is also the highest, said K Satyanarayana, ONGC�s Group General Manager, Tripura Asset here on Wednesday.
He said, the success continues in exploration activities resulting in field growth and discovery of new gas pools. The success includes two gas pools at Gojalia and another at Baramura � all fall under West Tripura district.
Satyanarayana said the Well Services has completed 17 wells during the year against six wells during the year 2010-11. This is also an all-time record.
�The achievement has been possible because of dedicated and coordinated efforts by reducing complications, down-time, making timely availability of locations for deployment of rigs and faster rig movements�, he said.
Tripura has been a logistically difficult area and cut-off from the mainland. It has more than six months of severe rains and converting everyday into productive one is a daunting task to Team Tripura, he said, adding that the Team made it a point to perform in the given environment and has done it with thumping success.
Besides, reaching out to the communities where people live and work also remains an area of priority at ONGC Tripura Asset.
