Dimapur Correspondent adds: The NSCN-IM has clarified that it has nothing to do with the encounter between the 13th Sikh Light Infantry and a group of unknown militants in the Zeliangrong region of Noney district in Manipur on March 5, which claimed the life of an Indian Army personnel.

In a release issued by the outfit on Tuesday evening, the NSCN-IM strongly refuted the charge as baseless and alleged that it was levelled without properly ascertaining the facts. The NSCN-IM also demanded that the militant group responsible for the attack on the Indian Army should owe responsibility.
