One more dies after eating wild mushroom

AIZAWL, April 10 - With the death of Ramdinmawii (34) today, four persons of a family have died after eating wild mushroom in Mizoram-Tripura-Bangladesh border Mamit town since Thursday last.

Earlier, Ramdinmawii�s sons Biakrinawma (10), and Malsawmtluanga (8) and her husband Saikhuma (35) died.

Saikhuma had collected wild mushroom from the jungle on April 4 and cooked it for dinner the same evening after which they started suffering from stomachache and loose motion, and were admitted to Mamit District Hospital.

Their other son Saihmingthanga (12), daughter Miriami (3) and their guest VL Hriata (20) are under treatment in Aizawl Civil Hospital here.

The condition of Saihmingthanga was stated to critical. � PTI

NCM member calls on Mizoram CM

Aizawl, April 10 - Capt Praveen Dayar (rtd), member, National Commission for Minority Affairs called on Mizoram Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla at the latter�s residence recently where they had a close interaction.

Capt Dayar told the Chief Minister of his purpose of visit to Mizoram, mentioning that he also had last year visited Mamit regarding Multi-Sectoral Development Project (MSDP).

Chief Minister on his part told the visiting NCM member that he hopes the minorities in Mizoram surely get the benefits under PM�s New 15-Point programme and MSDP.

Capt Dayar during his visit held a meeting with State Government officials and dicussed the various initiatives through New 15 Point Programme and MSDP. He visited Kolasib district and held a meeting with the officials on New 15 Point Programme for the welfare of religious minorities.
