DHUBRI,, July 3 - Abdul Mojid of Bhaman Danga part 2 village was arrested by police for alleged involvement in the rape of a deaf and mute women at Kuti Bhagon Danga Village under Agomoni PS on Friday night.
According to local people, the deaf and mute woman lives alone in her home at the village and on Friday night two unknown persons entered her home by digging a whole on the walls of her home. Later, when the rapist left the home, the victim informed the local people about the incident.
A police case was registered at Agomoni PS (170/18). Later the victim was taken to Dhubri Civil Hospital for treatment.
The police have informed that Mojid fled to Balabhut area of West Bengal soon after the incident. He was arrested on Monday when he entered the borders of Assam. Police said that the other accused will soon be behind the bars.
