One held for assaulting minor

GUWAHATI, Feb 11 - Police arrested one Shyamal Dey from Tripura here last night for allegedly assaulting a minor girl in the Basistha area. According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Nandini Kakati, the accused, aged around 34 years, was found inside a car with the girl by some locals near Megha Plaza of the Basistha area last night. �Dey had drugged the 15-year-old before assaulting her. The girl is now undergoing treatment in an ICU of a city-based private hospital. The accused, who stays in a rented house owned by the parents of the victim, has been booked under the POCSO Act and the court today sent him to judicial custody,� Kakati told this correspondent.
