One new COVID-19 case in Mizoram

Aizawl, Feb 23: Mizoram today reported one new case of COVID-19 as a 41-year-old woman tested positive, taking the state’s virus caseload to 4,410.

An official statement said 969 samples were tested on Tuesday from which one case was detected.

The new patient is from Chhinga Veng locality in Aizawl who went from shops to shops delivering goods.

She tested positive during mandatory test at a private hospital where she went for medical check-up. She is asymptomatic.

Mizoram’s active cases of COVID-19 today stood at 21 while 4,379 people have so far recovered from the disease.

With nine people having succumbed to COVID-19, the state’s fatality rate stood at 0.22 percent while recovery rate is 99.29 percent.
