OIL outclass SAI Kokrajhar 9-0

By Sports reporter

GUWAHATI, March 7 Sports Authority of India (SAI), Kokrajhar were no match to Oil India Limited (OIL) Sports Club as the Duliajan boys outwitted the Kokrajhar boys 9-0 in todays match of 4th Airtel Assam State Premier League.

In the totally one-sided match at the Nehru Stadium here, OIL led 3-0 at the breather and pumped in another six after the break.

Manas Manjit Chetia alone netted as many as five goals while F Wary, Zaidin Hmar, Jyotish Basumatary and Birjab Muchahary added one each.

Manash opened the sluice gate in the very second minute of the match and added another after five minutes. Just after two minutes of the second goal, F Wary netted his teams third goal.

After changing over, OIL players came out stronger and Manas scored three goals consecutively in the 58th, 60th and 70th minutes to register his hattrick.

OILs rampage continued in the later part also as Zaidin fired and Jyotish netted two snap goals in the 75th and 77th minutes. Substitute Birjab completed the rout in the 87th minute.

The young looking Kokrajhar boys seemed to be inexperienced and miserably failed to counter the moves of their senior opponent. They could hardly build any move throughout the course as OIL custodian Jitu Chetry virtually had nothing to do but stand relexed under the bar.

Todays match: ASEB vs FCI.
