OIL in ATPA semis

JORHAT, Nov 5 - Former champions Oil India Limited (OIL) Sports Club of Duliajan stormed into the last-four stage of the 52nd ATPA Shield Football Tournament with a thumping 6-1 victory. In the last quarterfinal match played at the Jorhat Stadium here today, the Duliajan boys virtually toyed with the Moran players and outplayed them in all departments.

Media F Wary opened the sluice gate in the 20th minute while a self goal by a Moran TC defender made the scoreline 2-0 after two minutes. Garemsa Basumatary enhanced the margin to 3-0 at the break.

The Moran boys managed to reduced the margin in the 51st minute converting a spot kick taken by Indrajit Sonowal. But after that the OIL players romped into attack and netted three goals through Tulya Gogoi (53rd minute), Manash Manjit Chetia (66th minute) and Garemsa Basumatary (70th minute) to completed the rout.
