OIL funds major roads in Tinsukia district

DIBRUGARH, Nov 28 � The Oil India Limited (OIL) signed three memoranda of understanding (MoU) with the Assam Public Works Department (APWD) recently for construction of a few major roads in Tinsukia district, which will be completed within a timeframe of one year.

The MoUs were signed on November 26 by NK Agarwal, Resident Chief Executive, OIL and MC Boro, Commissioner & Special Secretary to the Government of Assam, PWD, at OIL�s Field Headquarters at Duliajan.

Fully funded by OIL, PWD will construct the following roads: 12.60-km Deohal Tiniali to Tinsukia Town with a budget of Rs 6.28 crore; widening and revamping of 14.70-km Daimukhia-Digulturrung road along with a 12.50 m RCC bridge in Baghjan area with a budget of Rs 4.64 crore. Moreover, PWD will also fully fund and construct a 5.00-km road from Madhuban Tiniali to Borbudoi petrol pump.

This investment by OIL will benefit a large number of people and help in developing the infrastructure of the State.
