GUWAHATI, March 12 Title aspirant Oil India Limited (OIL) Football Club managed to gather full points today in the 4th Airtel Assam State Premier League Football Tournament defeating Green Valley Sports Club by the barest of margin.

The all important goal of the low key match at the Nehru Stadium was scored by Jayanta Basumatary in the 85th minute.

The standard of the match never rose to the expected height as both the teams played listless game most of the time. Due to poor imagination of the midfielders, both the teams failed to create scoring opportunities.

However, the goal was scored off a well planned move initiated by Manas Manjit Chetia from the middle third of the pitch. Manas found Mintu Boro with a measured through who set the ball for Jayanta.

Green Valley strikers Salau Nurudeen Olawale and Emmanuel Inioyoh tried to put pressure on the OIL defence with some individual effort but the watertight OIL defence did not allow them to break through.

Todays match: ASEB vs SAI Kokrajhar.
