Octogenarians� Club to discuss Citizenship Bill

GUWAHATI, May 30 - The Octogenarians� Club of Guwahati will organise a discussion on the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill at Pensioners� Bhawan at 10.30 am on June 2. Association president DN Chakravartty said that while one might agree to the basic idea of rehabilitating the persecuted Hindu migrants from Bangladesh, Assam could ill afford to shelter any more refugees � Hindus or Muslims � in view of the fact that the State had been carrying a very heavy burden of refugees since Partition, and particularly after 1971.
