Oakland HS clinch Mrigen Sarma trophy

GUWAHATI, Nov 24 - Oakland High School posted a 52-run victory against Faculty HS School in the final to win the title in the 13th All Assam Mrigen Sarma Memorial Inter School Cricket Tournament, organised by River Rine Cricket Coaching Centre.

At the Latasil playground here yesterday, riding on two solid knocks by Shahid Ali 81 (68b, 4x12) and Mrinal Sharma, not out 63 (44b, 4x7, 6x2) Oakland amassed 223 for the loss of six wickets in the stipulated 30 overs. The Faculty boys failed to chase the imposing total and were all out for 171 in 25.1 overs.

Individual prize winners are: MoM (Final)-Shahid Ali (Oakland HS), MoS-Shahid Ali (Oakland HS), Best Batsman-Sushanta P Das (Faculty HS School), Best Bowler-Devraj Bordoloi (Assam Jatiya Bidyalay), Best All Rounder-Kuldeep Basfor (Gyan Educational Institution), Best Fielder-Navanil Kr Borah (Faculty HS School), Best Wicket keeper-Debanga Bikash (NOS). Promising Players-Tanuj Sarma (Don Bosco School), Subrajeet Seal (NOS), Most Disciplined School-Assam Jatiya Bidyalay.
