GUWAHATI, June 24 - Dr Bhaba Priyo Das was awarded the New Zealand Young Engineer Award 2017 in the annual conference of the Electricity Engineers Association (EEA), New Zealand held at Wellington on June 21, 2017, a press release stated.

This award recognised Dr Das�s outstanding contribution to the electricity industry and showcased his excellence and innovation. As part of this award he, will be representing New Zealand at the 2017 International Electrotechnical Commission�s IEC Young Professionals Workshop, which is being held in October in Vladivostok, Russia

Dr Das, is currently employed in ETEL Transformers Ltd, Auckland, New Zealand as the Research and Innovation Engineer.

Dr Das is an alumnus of Assam Engineering College, having completed his undergraduate in Electrical Engineering in 2005, He is the younger son of Tara Prasanna Das and Gitika Das of Mathura Nagar, Guwahati.
