NSS programme held at Behali college

BISWANATH CHARIALI, Aug 6 - An NSS programme namely, �Swachh Bharat Summer Internship-100 hours of Swachhata� was held recently at Behali Degree College, Borgang under the aegis of Ministry of Human Resource Development in association with Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitaton and Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. The said programme provided an opportunity to college students across the country to contribute to the ongoing Swachhat revolution in the country.

Around 40 NSS volunteers under Behali Degree College NSS unit precipitated in activities like awareness campaigns, street plays, door-to-door meetings (sanitation), waste collection drives, making of dustbins, street and drain cleaning, rallies, among others. The team was divided into four groups.

Earlier, local MLA and cabinet minister of government of Assam, Ranjit Datta distributed NSS uniforms to the NSS volunteers in a meeting held at the heart of Borgang centre. He appreciated the NSS volunteers for their swachhata-related activities and also appealed to everyone to encourage and extend support to them to make their efforts successful.
