NSF warns un-approved educational institutes

By Correspondent

DIMAPUR, Feb 23 The Naga Students Federation (NSF) has sternly warned all educational institutions, including Montessori and high schools, colleges and training institutes in Nagaland, against playing with the careers of students for selfish ends.

A press release issued by NSF vice president Joseph Ngouri and general secretary Esther Rhakho said there are several schools and institutions in the State which are being run without approval or permission from the competent authority. The apex student body of the State asked unrecognised private-run institutes to obtain the necessary approval from the Government or immediately close down.

The NSF also cautioned that any institute, which does not fulfil the required criteria or guidelines laid down by the department concerned, should not be entertained under any condition or circumstances. It also expressed shock that the Blooming Bud Montessori School in Dimapur is being run without necessary permission from the School Education department and the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE), thereby ruining the careers of the students.

This should be an eye-opener for the Nagas, it said. While demanding that the headmaster of the Blooming Bud Montessori School, who is also its proprietor, be awarded appropriate punishment, the NSF assured that it would continue to work towards ensuring justice to victimised students and rebuilding their academic careers.

The student body also urged the School Education department and the NBSE to inspect and identify elementary schools and higher secondary schools which are being run without permission or approval, saying that the students are the ultimate losers due to such deceitful practices.
