DIMAPUR, June 5 - The Assam Rifles has claimed to have busted the �extortion network� of the NSCN-K and arrested the outfit�s Defense Secretary in Dimapur recently.
Assam Rifles troops apprehended one Kughato Chishi, �self-styled Defence Secretary� of NSCN (K), during an operation at Molvom area of Dimapur district, thus busting the �extortion network� of the group, a press release said.
During search of the cadre, several extortion documents were recovered, the release said.
On questioning, the apprehended cadre said he was tasked to carry out extortion from government departments based at Kohima.
