ITANAGAR, May 15 - The Assam Rifles has achieved a major success in its counter-insurgency operations against militants by busting an NSCN (K) camp at Phenbiro village under Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday. There was no report of any casualty from either side during the 24-hour long operation.
One country-made weapon, combat dresses and a large quantity of administrative stores were recovered from the hideout, according to an Assam Rifles spokesman.
He informed that the district has, in the last month, witnessed intensive counter-insurgency operations against insurgent groups in Changlang following receipt of reliable inputs about infiltration by ultras.
Following the busting of the hideout, security has been put on high alert across Changlang, the AR spokesman said.
