NSCN-IM accused of abducting Khaplang cadres

DIMAPUR, March 1 � The NSCN-K today said it is highly appalled and perturbed over recent abductions and brutal physical and mental torture meted out to three of its workers allegedly by NSCN-IM cadres.

A press release issued by NSCN(K) identified the victims as Kepwang Konyak, Honkai Konyak and Manjah Konyak and alleged they were abducted on February 18 from Teru village in Mon district of Nagaland.

The three workers were tormented inhumanly for several days under captivity and several fingers of each victim were even amputated/ hacked off with machete. The condition of the three are still critical, the NSCN-K alleged.

The NSCN-IM�s leadership are asked to justify if this display of violence is in harmony with their professed peaceful and honourable political solution, the release added.
