NSCN factions not to interfere in Manipur polls

By Newmai News

DIMAPUR, Jan 22 A day after the NSCN faction led by Khaplang had made its position clear that it would not get involved in the Indian elections, the Khole-Kitovi faction of the NSCN said on Saturday that it would not interfere in the upcoming Manipur Assembly elections.

In a statement, the NSCN-Khole/Kitovi group said that as per the resolution of the outfits cabinet meeting held on Saturday, it would not interfere in the Assembly elections in Manipur.

Participating in Indian elections will not bring a political solution for the Nagas, it observed.

Regional authorities and Naga Army in southern Nagaland (Naga areas in Manipur) are cautioned against tarnishing the good image of the outfit, the NSCN-Kitovi/Khole faction said.

The NSCN (K) said the NSCN from the beginning firmly stands on the Plebiscite of 1951 and boycott of the Indian election of 1952. Even today, the NSCN will not involve in Indian elections under any circumstances because it has nothing to do with Naga national politics, it added.
