GUWAHATI, March 18 - As a CSR initiative in line with the �Skill India� mission of the Government of India, Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) has signed an MoU with Gram Tarang Employability Training Services (GTET) to provide residential training to 20 unemployed youths of the nearby areas for skill development on �wiremen-control panel.�
�The above is in line with NRL�s CSR policy of facilitating livelihood opportunities for the unemployed youths, with focus on BPL families in the vicinity of the refinery. Under this project, GTET will be imparting residential training on wireman control panel at the ITI run by Amalgamated Plantations Private Limited (APPL) foundation at Rowta, Udalguri, followed by suitable placement of the candidates,� an NRL statement said.
The training programme was inaugurated at the APPL ITI-GTET Joint Skill Development Centrer at Rowta by NRL officials M Handique, CM (PR), PK Sarma, SM (CSR), MA Choudhury, SM (Corp Comm). Also present on the occasion were SN Bhattacharya and Pinku Deka from GTET and Saroj Borah from APPL ITI.
The speakers encouraged the participants to make the most of the opportunities offered to them and hone their skills so that they would not only earn their own livelihoods but also contribute in building a skilled India.
