NRL observes Vigilance Awareness Week

GUWAHATI, Nov 5 - Vigilance Awareness Week 2020 was observed at Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) in a befitting manner from October 27 to November 2, in line with directives from the Central Vigilance Commission with the theme �Vigilant India, Prosperous India�.

The programme was inaugurated with a virtual pledge-taking ceremony at the refinery and all other locations of the company. The e-integrity pledge was taken by employees, and several activities were taken up by the NRL vigilance department amongst NRL employees, CISF staff and school students to create awareness on integrity, honesty, morality, ethics, etc.

Competitions like essay writing, slogans, and debate were organised online. A district-level debate competition was organised in association with Numaligarh High School. A separate programme for essay and slogans competitions for about 12 schools of Dergaon town was also organised in association with Dergaon Senior Basic School.

The training department also conducted a short duration online training programme with resource person SR Medhi, former director (Technical) of NRL, on the subject �Corporate Governance and Preventive Vigilance Measures� for the management staff.

The main function was held online on November 2 in view of the current pandemic and about 90 employees of NRL attended the meeting. Managing Director SK Barua chaired the meeting and stressed the need for informed decision-making while exercising caution and transparency.
