TURA, Oct 16 - A day after the National People�s Party emerged the single largest party in the election to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC), the party is now set to form the new executive committee with the help of like-minded parties and independents.
Announcing this here today, NPP supremo and leader of the party, Purno A Sangma said, �We will be forming the next Executive Committee (EC) to the GHADC. The NPP- led alliance will be supported by 18 members, including three MDCs from Garo National Council (GNC), one from BJP, besides four Independents.�
The new alliance will be called Garo Hills Progressive Alliance with the agenda to develop the region.
