TURA, May 12 - In a huge blow to National People�s Party (NPP), the State general secretary, Digross D Shira along with the block president of Mendipathar, BD Shira, resigned from the party citing different reasons.
The two resignations, along with a lot of grassroot workers of the party comes just a few days prior to the by-election to Tura parliamentary seat. �I resign from the party today on personal grounds�, said Digross when contacted.
The Mendipathar block president and grassroot workers, however, had a different story altogether.
The block president alleged that the latest entry of FW Momin, who had left Congress for the NPP, was done by keeping them in the dark. �We are not against joining of Momin but the decision should have been taken after consulting us,� said the block president.
