By Correspondent

DIMAPUR, Nov 4 - In protest against what it called undemocratic detention of Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi by police in New Delhi, the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee and District Congress Committee Dimapur today took out a march from Congress Bhavan here to DC complex.

The Congress members led by NPCC president K Therie submitted a memorandum to President of India through the DC, Dimapur, NPCC media cell said in a release.

Condemning the unlawful and undemocratic action of NDA Government, the State Congress demanded that the President issue an advisory to Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a direction to behave, in accordance with the decorum of the Constitution.

The State Congress also stated that the undemocratic detention of non-BJP political leaders while on peaceful humanitarian duty has once again raised the ugly head of the intolerance that the BJP Government led by Narendra Modi breeds.

The action is gross violation of the freedom of expression, guaranteed to all citizens of India as fundamental rights under Article 19 (1) of the Constitution of India, it said.
