Novel on Kaziranga released

BOKAKHAT, Dec 21 - A novel Kazirangar Ballad, written by Asam Bani editor Dilip Chandan, was released by Dr Dhrubajyoti Bora, president of Asam Sahitya Sabha at a function held under the presidentship of Bhabesh Saikia. The programme was organised by the Bokakhat Press Club at Bokakhat Natya Mandir here on December 19.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Bora said that the novel is a successful literary work of Dilip Chandan that has exposed some of the major problems like conservation of natural resources, rhino poaching, steps taken by the government, etc.

The meeting was also addressed by Prof Arindom Borkotoky, assistant professor of Nagaon College, Jitu Sarmah Rajkhowa, president, AAJU, Nagen Borah, publisher, Jyoti Prakashan, Annada Saikia, advisor of Sodou Asam Lekhika Samaroh Samiti, Dilip Phukan, Soneswar Narah and Minoti Doley among others.

Dilip Chandan recalled his experiences while collecting data and information about the Kaziranga National Park and its adjoining areas and also expressed his gratitude to Dr Bora for guiding and inspiring him to write the novel.

Earlier, Achyut Hazarika, president in-charge of the Bokakhat Press Club, welcomed the gathering, while Uttam Saikia, secretary of the club, anchored the programme.
