GUWAHATI, April 7 - Satgaon police caught a notorious land grabber from the Kochpara area here on Friday.
Dipak Das alias Biplab Das alias Baka of Kochpara, who has a non-bailable warrant against him, is a noted trouble monger in the area, Noonmati ACP Purabi Mazumdar said. The ACP said recently he tried to grab a myadi patta plot belonging to a lady in the Kochpara area.
He even accosted the land owners, threatened and manhandled them a couple of days back. �He has past criminal records as well. We are looking into his involvement in other cases. He has a gang, which includes his relatives. We are trying to identify them,� the ACP said.
The accused drives private vehicles as a part time job.
He has been booked under sections 447/427/379/294/506/34 of IPC.
