SILCHAR, April 28 - In a major catch, Cachar Police nabbed a notorious car-lifter Kamrul Islam Barbhuiya alias Lekoi and recovered arms and ammunition from his possession.
According to police, based on a tip-off, a special team of Cachar SP along with police officers from Rangirkhari police outpost raided the residence of Kamrul on Friday night and recovered one pistol, two rounds of live ammunition, one blue pulsar motorcycle bearing fake number plate, three master keys, 13 tools used for breaking locks, some fake numbers plates and stolen parts of vehicles, etc.
Further, police informed that during interrogation, the accused admitted that he was involved in car and bike lifting across Barak Valley since 2007, besides arms smuggling as well.
